The Little Angel

i sat in the park today and a tear ran down my cheek
My lips trembling I could not speak
Feeling so lost and alone
My heart felt heavy as stone

I saw the children in the distance at play
All of a sudden a small child came my way
The sunlight shimmering in her hair
She looked like a little angel standing there

Her eyes full of wonder and love
She truly was an angel from above
She smiled at me so sweet
Her gaze my eyes did meet

Not speaking a word she handed me a little flower
I was overwhelmed by the power
Of such a sweet little gift
Then she was gone so swift

I stared at that flower
For almost an hour
I looked for that little angel that came my way
I didn’t see that child at play

Then I realized
Right before my eyes
An angel really had been sent my way
To make me forget my horrible day

To show me the beauty of that flower
That I stared at for over an hour
I looked to the heavens above
And thanked God for sharing his love

For sending an angel my way
To give me a better day
So when you’re feeling lost and cold as stone
Remember you’re never really alone

Angels come to us everyday
In so many different ways
So when you think you’ve come to the end
The good Lord to you an angel will send

To remind you of his love
As he gives you an angel from above
So remember when your having a bad day
God will send angels your way

A most poignant write... The beauty of the moment... When a little girl offers a flower.. To a stranger low in spirits and love... You captured the significance, all of it!.. TQ, really a masterfully crafted literary art!...
