THE LINOLEUM REMEMBERS

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the kitchen at 3 a.m., dust motes hang suspended in a wedge of streetlamp glow. Grandmother's teacup rests half-full on the counter, steam still coiling upwards though she left thirty years ago. The linoleum remembers.
A fave ~ so funny as I was reading "Grandmother's teacup rests half-full on the counter" I was thinking how wonderful it would be if that were possible... so "she left thirty years ago" got me right in the sweet spot. Beautiful !!!
This one hit me in the gut --- 30 years ago. The memory probably as fresh as yesterday. ~ Lynn O. Liam
