The Lily in the Wilderness
Thou art the lily in the wilderness,
To thee, I gave mine heart - sweetest love.
We met in foreign land, yet our seeds,
Were sown together midst the wilds -
Gentle and harsh, we tried and tuned our hearts.
I can love no more lilies - for I've given mine,
And none remains to give again.
Our roads and maps are carved in fate,
Yet, we couldn't walk in peace;
For life gave its twist and turn.
Let the raindrops fall, water the ground,
That it'll be soft - we'll grow and weave;
Our hearts together, rooted deep,
Like the ancient oak, that stood midst the storms.
I'll love thee still, my purest soul,
We hath walked along the paths in silence;
Though distance stands like chasm beyond our sight,
We've kept our promise true and pure.
When night doth fall at last,
And raindrops shall run dry -
A bliss shall grow: hand in hand,
We'll tread life's last grave together
