The Lighthouse

Like a ship in the storm
I'm tossed to and fro
My sails, torn and battered
Knowing not where I go

I look for the lighthouse
But none do I see
I'm lost in the darkness
Of my own misery

I look for an island
To rest my weary soul
Betrayed by the stars
That's refusing to show

A temporary respite
I pray as I seek
Still finding no beacon
My spirit is weak

On through the darkness
I sail in the night
A soldier of misfortune
I search for the light

I pray in my panic
Sometimes being bold
That someday soon
This anchor will hold

My prayers have been heard
That was prayed thru the night
I now see the Lighthouse
And He's shining so bright
