The Light Switch

The Light Switch

Our minds are like a light switch
We turn on with a flick.

But then as fast we pull the plug
And turn off just as quick.

Our feelings give us power
We feel the way we choose.

So be careful not to think too much
Or you might blow your fuse.

Hi Randy. Wow, thanks for all your thoughtful comments. This poem drew me in as I recently wrote something concerning the on switch. Love this clever write and I will be the first to admit I am guilty of the last verse! Well said. Love, Shar

Thanks Carolyn for the compliment. This was the first poem I ever wrote and it's nice to hear someone else relates to it. I'll be reading your poems. Randy

Wow, Randy, did I get a laugh when I read the last line!! Maybe that's my problem; maybe I've blown too many fuses over the year and my brain no longer functions properly. Forget therapy; I should be paying you! LOVE THIS ONE!! Carolyn

Love the rhyme of this one and I gotta say it is all so true. I can't even count how many times I've blown a fuse...lol
