Listen to poem:

The Light of Your Company

It's been so long since I've swayed this peacefully
A message roll talks without voice; tucked safely within
'Cause mesmerizing is the light of your company

The sun reflecting; this body gave patina soulfully
A royal blue vessel my soul contained by scent of gin
It's been so long since I've swayed this peacefully

Traveling by tides 'til this great beauty summons thee
Released in her silken fingerprints across my skin
'Cause mesmerizing is the light of your company

Feeling you, my heartbeats; read these words exquisitely
This feeling could not be replaced; so drop a map pin
It's been so long since I've swayed this peacefully

I've longed to be read aloud, by a voice so gracefully
The message in this bottle is that you make me spin
'Cause mesmerizing is the light of your company

Every trip around the Sun from now to infinity
I would hold your hand at the spot where we did begin
It's been so long since I've swayed this peacefully
'Cause mesmerizing is the light of your company

Beautiful- I have been there, sometimes we want to be at a different place than we are... this seems to be soulful and cosmic. You are such a gifted soul- I wish to everyone is that they see it. <3

I was musing over being a message in a bottle, floating the ocean until found by the person that was meant to read it. A bit whimsical I guess. I really been just having fun exploring connection in different forms in my writing. I like how you interpreted it about wanting to be in a different place that's actually a really interesting assessment to me! thank you! A.S.
