The Light

If I never get, the chance to taste your lips While we share in this life Or get to see you wear my shirt As you lay down by my side Then you can bet that I'll go to my grave Wondering what could have been I'd rather drown in cool water of regret Than to live this life again I'd rather drown in your perfume Or by a fire, that's been set against my will Then to spend a day not saying You know I want you still I hope I never go away Without telling you goodbye With my last breath, I would confess That you've always been my light She claims that I'm her light But we both know, in reality she's mine When darkness comes callin' I know right where I can find My little glimpse of Heaven The one that lifts me way up high I know these words will never be enough To help me describe Just how much I miss you With each passing day that we don't talk How much I'd love to hold your hand And share my deepest thoughts Life has never been the same Since the day that I met you My light in life, the one who might Make my dreams come true If I ever get to taste your lips While we share in this life I'll let you know how it been you Who's always been the light
