The Life In Her Eyes Is Gone

She loved him very deeply
he always struck her down,
by mental and emotional abuse
she never wears a smile, just frowns.

She always keeps to herself
hardly talks to him anymore,
misses the life they once had
hurts her to the very core.

Happiness used to reside
deep within her heart,
she used to burst with love
but he had ripped it apart.

She feels worn and run down
the life in her eyes is gone,
she once loved him very deeply
they had a special bond.

He took her heart and laid it out
upon a cold, dusty, wooden floor,
he stomped all over it time and time again
love doesn't reside here anymore.
