The Life I Lost

The wind howls in the night
A shooting star races across the sky
Here I sit watching the world pass by
So many dreams I once had
But that was so long ago and a life I once had
Now my days are faced in solitude only sit here in my room
For here in my sanctuary
I have no fears and no one can hurt me
My fortress around my heart is now strong
And it gives me the strength to go on
And so as the wind howls against my window pane
I know now that I will someday have that life I lost back again
