The Liars Crown

The Liars Crown A child looked toward a man Who would not let him feel He buried his emotions Was unsure what was real This is how he learned to live Heart numb behind the grin How he lied to try and hide The pain he felt within For every joke and smile The lies began to grow Until he was a stranger Himself he did not know Life became a tragedy A race to reach the end Blinded to integrity The truth would always bend So teach your children honesty Embrace the inner child Nurture their emotions So they’re not running wild And to believe that honesty Is what everybody mourns When they look upon the man Beneath the crown of thorns By: Jeremy Siedlecki
