The Letter

Dear Child,
This I must write,
I have to go to Heaven
It must be tonight.
God has called me
To join the angels there
But oh don't fret,
For the land is so fair.
The walls are of jasper
The streets are of gold
The gates are of pearl
The sights are untold.
I'm not worried
For Jesus will be there
There will be laughter
And singing everywhere.
I'll tell our loved-ones
Hello for you
When you get there,
You can tell them, too.
My body will no longer
Feel this pain
Joy and peace
I now will obtain.
Please don't shed
Any tears,
For I've been awaiting
This moment
For many years.
