The Lessons We Teach

The lessons we teach
The word we say
Share a part
In the world we live in today

The songs that we sing
The prayers that we pray
Send a message to god
In a heavenly way

The language we speak
The influence we put to stay
Marks our teens and children
In a way they will pay

We all have our demons
In the way that they lay
In our soul they linger
To stay

We need to make a holy place for our children to dwell
So all they speak and do will be well
And teens listen here make the right choice
To stay clear of evil and the demon in the dark
