The Latest Law

The latest landmark law was signed
Which guarantees the rights
Of everyone to marry, after
Years of bitter fights.

So same-sex couples needn’t fear
Their love will be denied
And interracial partners
Can rejoice as knots are tied.

To those who grumble, I can’t see
Why anybody’s choice
In marriage should be challenged
By an unrelated voice.

Let all who make commitments
To each other set their course
For everlasting happiness
(Or possibly divorce).

That last line sure is hopeful... Given today's statistics, the adverb of frequency should be 'probably.' ~ gw

What a joke that was to have a law in a civilized land, that denies those in love to form a union,l just didn't understand. Did he have to ask the Government if he could take her hand, and be before a minister and lovingly stand, because she was fair of skin and he was very tanned? Is it right that I evoke, I law that was against love cause a bloke was in love with a bloke? Great Poem Ilene, Enjoyed.

Common sense at last, too many poking their noses into other peoples business. Tom
