The Latest Good Grief

Grief is a feeling
best felt right away,
so it can dissipate
with the light of each day.

But sometimes, maybe grief,
has a gift by delay.
A suspension of heartache
and sad words to say.

There is bliss in the heart
that beats without knowing
the grief that is coming,
and the debt it will pay.

The debt of the heart
will be paid in the end,
and the weight of the grief
is the same for a friend.
