The Last Rose Petal Drops

Knocked down in the street
She struggles to her feet
Just another runaway who cant run away,
She sells her inner light
To the predators at night
So the violent man gets paid
She paints on lipstick smiles
It gets her thru the miles
But her body shows the wear
She vows one day to quit
But her word just isnt worth spit
And they would kill her if she dared
One day all bruised and sore
She wakes on a dirty floor
And she feels all inside has stopped
They zip her in a bag
Put Jane Doe on her tag
As the last rose petal drops

yes you are right Linda,, its just one big commercial trap, people dont realize the best gift is already given but we all get caught up in the atmoshere of it all and succumb to it. imagine the money people would have if christmas was not commercial. I hope and pray you are well my friend and you are with people who love you,, God bless, peace, and warmest love your friend Carl

Carl...interesting ..I can visual how hostile life can be when one is a female.... when I wss young I had a choice to run... or really run...I took the easy way out and decided to listen to my parents .. buzzing. ... glad Im no jane doe getting smacked by a john doe-Manson... the images here are horrifying. Happens in reality. Hope my world and rose petal... never fall that way.... and thank you for the comment on my poem...smiles....xox ...Linda
