The Last Kiss

Im so far from who i thought i would be
Life seems to have got the best of me
Hopes have vanished once inspired by childhood dreams.
All my expectations are not what they seem
The pit that has swallowed me now has all control
My spirit quit fighting for my battered soul
My smile and my feelings all seem phoney to me.
I may walk freely among you but inside im not free.
Im just an intruder in this world without a home that is mine
A castaway from a society that turns a blind eye.
I could run far away and never be missed
But i keep hanging on dreaming of one last kiss.

Wow - awesome last line to wrap this up. Rings so true, most of us can relate, Carl. A FAVE for me.
