The Last Journey

The journey ends with one step back
into the realm of this and that
what could have been, what is now
did it ever matter anyhow

Hellos were many, goodbyes pile on
there was struggle but you forged along
so much good so much bad
the thrill of happy the pain of sad

Always more to know, always more to grow
never really rest, reaching up for the best
the taste of victory savors sweet
the bitterness burns in lonely defeat

There were laughs there were tears
there was hope there was fear
a shoulder to lean on, being strong
live for right to stubborn for wrong

Now time has pass you by
but you accept with wings to fly
into the light away from dark
hear the cry of a life's new spark.
