The Last Days of the Year

The last days of the year
Are thick with emotions
The birth of hope
In the form of God's son
Long ago in a manger
For two thousand years it has been repeated
And now again in modern forms
Santa's sack is too small
To grant the wishes of children
Even if it were stitched
With fabric from the whole horizon
Pain fades
In the midst of frail joys
And we quickly forget our dreams
With the return of continuous worries

Soon holiday cards will be sold for half price
And then reused again
Next year

This one reminds me of the fact that people in our country are hurting from the economy that is not doing well for so many people..The use of metaphoric language is excellent..Sara
