The Last Becoming

Confine the only answer
Express the guilt you find
Redeem it through your earnings
And then collapse inside

The witness cold and silent
My numbness holds the key
Where everything could end it
This numbness lets me see

Condemn the things that fail you
Forget the ones that know
Remember why you drown them
And then pretend to grow

The witness cold and empty
Their anger still agrees
With nothing left to follow
There’s not much left of me

Ascend the bitter stairwell
Cling to barbed despair
The poison takes your eyes now
And a monster starts to stare

The witness cold and blinded
He observed with too much pain
Now the path’s connected
And my numbness guides my vain
