The Land of the Dead

Men came running from afar
Naked bodies full of scars
Struggling in the heavy tar
Trying to reach the glowing star

I heard nothing but screams
Shouts over dead dreams

Something came and took the glow
Cloth on its face and on its back sat a crow
It started rising black snow
Snow ashes rising from below

Found myself in the land of the dead
The land where there's no body nor head
No books are read
No words are said

It came back and whispered in my ear
And ever since, the ship is mine to steer
