The Lake Stars

I've included my prose for this entry, it started as a haiku, but i converted it to a haibun THE (lake) STARS the spring sun has started thawing the frozen countryside. I spend the afternoon gliding across a sheet of glass on lengthy points. silence banished by joyous bellows as the ice is scarred and chipped. time slides by while smiles are shared and glossy eyes come in line. Doom lingers in the rays warming more than the frigid lake. fingers meet. hearts skip beat. the sweeping off of feet. unnoticed. the moon chases the sun from the sky. the population dwindles to two. me and you. the evening breeze chills the landscape. we look into the mirror below us and see that we are standing in the heavens. frozen reflections capturing infinity starry sky on ice By: Jeremy Siedlecki
