The Lady Down the Lane
THE LADY DOWN THE LANE
The lady down the lane knew it all.
From the number of people in our small country town,
to why Mr. and Mrs. Francis had that ugly fight that ended up real bad.
Who am I kidding,
She even knew how much i scored in math last summer.
Don’t ask me how, but she knew it all.
Everyone in town knew her.
But not as much as she knew everyone in town.
Everyone knew her as the lady down the lane,
But she knew all those skeletons that lie
deep down the cupboards of each of those ideal men down the lane.
Everyone knew her as the lady down the lane, who knew it all.
The whole town attended her funeral.
Now, it won’t be a surprise when relief flooded the minds of all those ideal men, would it?
sadly ,Nobody would now know what she knew .
Who am I kidding,
When you get to be the chosen one of the lady down the lane,
Wouldn’t you know it all?
