The Kodaks of Memory Fade Happily
The Kodaks of memory fade happily
The Kodaks of memory fade;
Faint ghosts, your sparkling eyes
And arabesque smile
Lingering to the last.
The rough edged print lies
Before my inward eye, stained,
Worn from constant touch,
Reminder of happiness.
Images parade before me,
Mind flicking through an album,
Laughter and foolishness contained
Within the confines of 6 x 4.
Though colour prints of memory
Fade, yet the tracings of
Moments past linger and
Assert their presence.
The shuttered lens is faithful
To love and chest bursting
Joy, chemical draughtsmanship
Captive in the mind.
Now we capture new moments
of joy, ironic pixel postcards
in the mind; and the
Kodaks of memory fade.
