The Kingdom of Ice

A kingdom born
A knightly shadow looks on
Surrounded by snow
Alone, the shadow continues to grow

As pure as space
The knight reaches out for a taste
The evening dies
The moon sets the snow alight

A forest calls
The knight searches the forest walls
Further within
The knight runs to a blood-red spring

Welcome home
Welcome all to the shadow that’s grown
Here the armour rusts
And the darkness is warm to the touch

Cloaked in black
Bathed in blood and dark tact
The knights continue on
Recalling the ice, so alone

A kingdom born
The knights have found their war
Now defy the cold
Until what’s left has turned to snow
