The Kind of Person
Were I the kind of person
Who’d act upon a dare
I wouldn’t be here
Plopped down on my rear
Without some excitement to share.
Were I the type of writer
Who sought out wealth and fame
I’d research the ways
To gain notice and praise
So more people would nod at my name.
But I am a risk-averse person,
Content in my own little world;
Not even in sleep
Do I dig down so deep
That my freak flag will flutter, unfurled.
