The Keeper of Time

I dare not stare at this vision too long
For it takes my breath away
What magic spell do you cast on me,
That makes me feel this way?

Are you my mistress, the keeper of time,
That holds me in your will?
For I'm your prisoner, with just one glance
That makes all time stand still

Like a selective bolt of lightning
Your fire has pierced my soul
You've captured me with your beautiful smile
And held me, with your radiant glow

I cannot ever look away I fear
I'm trapped in this blissful dimension
Frozen in time, I can't escape
Hostage of your breathtaking attention

Tomorrow no longer has meaning
Just a day like all the rest
My heart stands silent, refusing to beat
Until your love is confessed

Alas, you're the reason for the poet's verse
And the ending, to his every rhyme
With just one glance, time stands still
For you are the keeper of time

This one is beatitful, Larry. Love that phrase for the woman: The Keeper of Time. I enjoyed this. As for my free verse, I have done maybe 30 or 40 in ten years, compared to well over a thousand rhyme. If they keep doing these free verse contests, I'll use up what I have in my inventory. hahaha
