The Just of It All
A nation will soon report its conviction,
Compelled by law and its right.
While justice lays upon a heavy hand,
Towards the greed & guilt in the fight.
The rule of law provides the people,
With a power to equal all around.
Where no matter one's status or standing,
Fair weight is given on level ground.
Without a doubt, the system has flaws,
Yet it appeals continually to improve.
And those with enough resources, may
Often delay any verdicts to remove.
Given the amount of constitutional complexity,
It's no wonder when justice seems delayed.
Although if we fail to endure the lengthy process,
We plant the seeds of new doubt that's afraid.
Now if we give in to time's advantage, and
Let fear govern the prosecution of crime.
Then we all fall victim to the chaos,
And that becomes just a matter of time.
