The Judge
When God rolls off the lips
Of laypersons and scholars alike,
Words such as omnipotent, omnipresent,
Omniscient, and everlasting
Come to mind.
By definition, unrestrained by human attributes,
Unbounded by plurality.
—Swear indeed upon the Book.
It is the gavel’s weight that strikes the anvil
And puts to rest the case before the Banc.
Merciful prudence to prevail with impartiality
When the heart is weighed against the feather of truth
As civilization is judged.
