The joy

The joy that it brought me,
seeing others so bright.
The joy that it brought me,
dancing through the night.
Jumping, skipping all around-
as each foot touched the ground.

These are the memories
I want to keep,
but the ones I know
I must leave.

Because eventually, one day,
when I am grey and old,
memories like this will be gone-
and never retold.
