The Invite

IF I SENT YOU AN INVITE
WOULD YOU ACCEPT OR
WOULD YOU REPLY
SOME OTHER TIME NOT TONIGHT

IF I SENT YOU AN INVITE STATING
COME AS YOU ARE
WOULD YOU REPLY
I HAVE NO GAS FOR THE CAR

IF I SENT YOU AN INVITE
PLEADING FOR YOU TO COME
WOULD YOU REPLY SORRY I CAN'T
I HAVE SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO
GET DONE

WITH SADNESS IN MY EYES AND
PAIN
IN MY HEART
I KNOW IN THE END IT WILL
DEATH DO US PART

SO IF I SEND YOU THIS INVITE
PLEASE DON'T IGNORE THE RSVP
I'M TRYING TO GIVE YOU
EVERLASTING LIFE FOR ALL
ETERNITY
