The Invisible Dictator
Now there is one which rules our lives
whose presence looms as he arrives
and with his voice, make no mistake
the winds subside, the mountains quake
Our very way of life, cut short
with sleep to flee and peace to thwart
for this one knows no mortal bound
and madness thrives when he’s around
We never know when he’ll drop by
no invitation to reply
he comes from nowhere we can see
the smallest thing can spur his spree
To dare not listen to his word
seems foolish and it feels absurd
should we obey, turn a deaf ear
how do we coexist with fear
