The Inner Self
Within the inner depth in us, inside,
Where thoughts like gently flowing rivers glide,
A hidden cryptic garden waits to bloom,
Away from far-fetched, faithless fears and gloom.
This is the secret spot we seldom see,
The true part of us that craves to be;
It does not heed for outward shining show,
Or what the world may think of us or know.
It thrives beyond the brazen busy mind,
The silent sparky search we often find,
It's not the name we wish wearing with pride,
Nor where, silent we stand, nor where we hide.
It's in the well-waxed whispers of the soul,
The yearning for us to become a whole,
A fair faithful flicker of candlelight,
Brisk, burning blissfully bright in the night.
It holds the darling dreams we dare to keep,
The peaceful promises we make in sleep,
The serene silent strength that sets us through,
The challenges cherished, both old and new.
It knows the joy, the sharp, sour, smarting sting,
The hallowed happiness that hearts can bring;
It feels the fervour of fresh falling tears,
The woeful weight of worries, doubt and fears.
It eyes the beauty of the shining sun
Even in grey clouds in the horizon;
It hears magical music in the breeze,
In the rustling of leaves amidst the trees.
It feels the shine of sparkling sunlit days,
And treads through tranquil life in countless ways;
It’s patient, perky, peaceful, ever near,
A comforting charm that calms all fear.
Let`s snatch a silent second, breathe it in,
Let pearly positive peace pour within,
Let`s scan the inner shine, so bright and deep,
The secrets that our own inner self keeps.
Let`s lend an attentive ear to its call
And we will grasp how firm, it holds us all,
How in darkness, it spreads its love and grace
Reflected in that secure, sacred space.
In that secret, silent, serene landscape,
The seed of shining truth surely sculpts shape,
The inner self, a soundless, sparkling star,
Reveals the real man, we truly are.
