The Image
The Image
A thousand painful memories,
Etched upon a face,
A empty look within her eyes,
That passers by can’t place.
As she looks into the mirror,
Afraid of what she’ll see,
There’s something staring back at her,
That just won’t let her be.
A monster lives within her,
Taking pleasure in her pain.
He dominates her every thought
Till she slowly goes insane.
Relentless in its torture,
It’s tearing up her soul,
Filling her with fear and pain,
To destroy her is it’s goal.
She turns away now sadly,
She’s seen all she can see,
An image of a girl that was,
The girl that once was me.
