The Hole
There’s nothing left to be known
Only water eating stone
So in the precipice of our lies
We dig for one last light
Even when the wake kills the skies
There’s nothing left to be seen
Only dark decaying dreams
And in the image of our minds
We see a world that’s going blind
In fear of fading from time
There’s nothing left to be saved
Only metal and disgrace
And through the endings we concoct
With machinery and rock
We’ll never stop
There’s nothing left to give hope
Hardly any ways to cope
And to look up through the hole
We see the dying and the sold
We start to feel the toll
On our dusty, pain filled path
We feel our own wrath
And as we bury ourselves deep
We realise what we reap
But soon the core will burn us to sleep
