The History of Fear

The History of Fear

To cite the galleries of Fear
This emotion driven here
And eons past how it began
Beginning with the age of man

To search for food without delay
Or searched for food by other prey
Fear to survive by with every day
The threat of Fear moved on in years

The Fear of God instilled by law
regarding Him with so much awe
The Inquisition, genocide
The Fear of credos other than

A peaceful atmosphere incurred
But portions of our life has stirred
Where Fear has donned a different suit
Millenials cannot compute

More mental pain, depressive straits
established egos met their fate
The Fear of coexisting with
That White is right and other myths

For Fearless is the antonym
A new world order must exist
To love yourself without a care
Eliminate the dread of Fear

Much to contemplate here. For myself I think in our current society there is too much self love and the building up of self. In the past self worth was determined by how much you contributed to the community as a whole. Great poem that causes one to think.

The danger of fear is that it isolates and turns one inward. Connections and helping others takes the self absobtion away and we stop being concerned with our own insular thoughts.

Interesting recitation of Man's relationship with fear. Whether internal or external, there always seems to be something to instil that emotion! Great write, Ralph! Congratulations on your win. Regards, John.

Hi Patricia: How sweet of you. I feel like I have a fan. I feel I may have belied the subject a bit.I didn't want to restrict fear to one subject But I could have mentioned The Chainsaw Massacre(ha ha)
