The Hero In You

Though you’re quiet in the darkness 
while you hide there from the light
There’s a flame residing in you 
that burns forever bright
I see it through your actions, 
most everything you do
But, it’s you that doesn’t see 
the hero that’s in you

For you share the goodness of the sky 
by washing away my pain
You always show me sunshine, 
when from the sky there’s rain
You give me hope to carry on 
when all in life is blue
But, it’s you that doesn’t see
the hero that’s in you

Don’t you know…the person that you are?
Can’t you see… the strength and soul possessed?
Don’t you feel… the presence of the glow
Because I know… and see and feel you’re blessed

There’s a presence that’s within you 
that carries forth to all
In life, some call it goodness, 
but I say it’s your call
You are always there for others 
with everything you do
Please open your eyes to see 
the hero that’s in you 

Don’t you know…the person that you are?
Can’t you see… the strength and soul possessed?
Don’t you feel… the presence of the glow
Because I know… and see and feel you’re blessed

When I tremble always due to fear 
you’re there to see me on
When I’m weakened by my state of day, 
you make me feel so strong
When I’ve given up and lost all hope 
as I haven’t got a clue
It’s you that makes me better, 
the hero… that is you

	
I am blessed like all the others
	to have the hero
		that is you
