Love and lust can sometimes seem the same, fueling the heart's hesitation. And as doubt dissolves trust's foundation, tears slowly extinguish passion's flame. An emotional bumper car ride, love leaves you stymied and befuddled. And reality appears muddled, for fickle feelings start to collide. With each light lit, a shadow is cast that tests your resiliency to cope. But love imbues trusting hearts with hope, assuring them happiness can last. A poor substitute, touted by youth, lust centers on pleasures of the flesh. And yet, sex grows stale; while love stays fresh, that's the heart's inescapable truth. (Enclosed Rhyme) 08/05/2020

Yes, Emile, that is "love's inescapable truth". So what can you do? There is no use in arguing with the heart. You have to just "take it or leave it". Faved. (All your poems are really favorites though.) Carole Duet :D
