The Heartbreak Just Keeps Coming

The heartbreak just keeps coming (Why can't we live forever like in a dream?) By Michelle Morris 18/06/2023 You want to scream out loud Tell the people to go away Leave you the hell alone Give you space to grieve your way It sucks and it's painful and thorny It's hell on earth and you're in the middle You sit down in the shower and wait You're waiting for the water to cleanse your pain Chorus: Oh, the heartbreak just keeps coming Is it possible that it's shattering through the Universe? Does every atom know the brutal truth? That love can kill you without a bullet? Oh, the heartbreak just keeps going On and on through every fibre of your being Why do people have to die on us? Why can't we live forever like in a dream? (End Chorus) You want to go into the desert Be away from all the crowds Maybe you can start to think again Give you space to grieve in nature Lie under the blanket of stars each night Have the Universe comfort you gently And when the storm lashes in a flash You can wash away the demons who prey Chorus And there you can build a monument To all the broken dreams in the world Inspire all the broken hearted ones To remember to have faith and hope Over millions of miles and galaxies There are threads of light and sanity All our love connects us forever And our screams are heard and healed Chorus Why can't we live forever like in a dream? Why can't we live forever like in a dream? © Michelle Morris, 2023
