The Heart Shaped Tattoo

(A lone voice whispers)

Some say
To love and lose

Is still better
To have not heard its love song

Filled with rhythm and blues

And that's why my lost love

I'll always love you

For you once lit a fuse
So beautifully

But fire don’t last forever
When it burns too deep in me

Love don’t fade away
Even when it breaks in two

Time can’t steal the flame
That still leads me back to you

And that's why I'll always treasure
Its heart shaped tattoo

Even if the ink runs faded
Baby, I still feel you

'Cause to me
You'll never ever be old news

No… you’ll never be old news

We danced
Through highs and lows

Like a record spinning stories

Only broken lovers know

Yeah, we lost the melody
But I still hum our tune

Maybe love ain't perfect
But it leaves a mark that stays

And every scar you gave me
Lights a brighter kind of way

Love don’t fade away
Even when it breaks in two

Time can’t steal the flame
That still leads me back to you

And that's why I'll always treasure
Its heart shaped tattoo

Even if the ink runs faded
Baby, I still feel you

'Cause to me
You'll never ever be old news

No… you’ll never be old news

Maybe we were never meant to stay
But you taught my heart how to feel this way

And even if you're gone
Your love made me strong

Now I can love again
Carry on

And that's why I'll always treasure
Its heart shaped tattoo

Not a mark of something broken
But a love I made it through

'Cause to me
You'll never ever be old news

No… you’ll never be old news

You were my rhythm…
Now I found my blues turn gold
