The Heart Race

I can see my heart racing up to speed,
but once i get there...it's not about me,
the thrill of all the things we have in common,
the way we see life, and in our hearts longings,
it is truth and love that we cherish to see,
and it may not be that we were meant to be,
together in the way that you might have thought,
but the energy of the dream is what God sought,
His light intensified and illuminated beyond us,
in the mix of the emotions look where he brought us,
the rush of the breeze that swept me off my feet,
the tears of my heart... to a sweet release,
the reminder of a love i held above all else,
that needed to be dusted and taken off the shelf,
the book to be reread and opened again,
i will never call you my enemy, i love you, my friend,
process stood by me when i needed that hand,
forgiveness called me when i couldn't understand,
love tapped on my shoulder and made me turn around,
my heart raced all over again...look what we found.
