The Heart of Winter

Winter is that time of year, that always makes me blue.
A time when i reflect on thoughts, of people just like you.

Winter is a quiet time, of ice, and cold, and snow.
Reminds me of your love somehow, and how your cold winds blow.

Winter is a frozen world, when all around search heat.
The skies are overcast most days, just like my heart's defeat.

Winter days i stay indoors, to fight away the cold.
Which makes me think somehow of you, and of your artic soul.

Old man winter is his name, i think you both are kin.
For every time you both come 'round, i'm cold and numb within.
