The Guardians of the Light

Listen to poem:
The Guardians of the Light David J Walker What is it, This thing that parts The natural darkness In the eternal night The strike of potassium and Phosphorous, igniting The only light The only bright thing ever known In this unknown universe Parting the darkness from the light As if parting the land from the Storms of oceans As if parting fractions and integers And the body forms of Men and women Creating a need to name the dawn and dusk And the lusty fractious musk of Attractions of opposites In flight A fearful world that swirls Around as As if a terrifying carnival ride As we become the Guardians of the light
