The Greek Festival

~~~~~OPA~~~~~ This is the happiest day of my year! At Saint Basil's Festival, in my heart. You would see fireworks and hear the cheers. Nothing can keep me from this Festival apart. It's the kindness of Greeks, so sparkly of heart. It's my home on this earth. So though I will be not online this morning~ You , who support me, are going with me, no warning. Of Greek pastries and food you will sup, And even Retsina.. drink up, drink up. Ah, the Frappes and music divine. A few Greek circle dances, you will feel more than divine! Love, Panagiota
H Panagiota, I understand you 100% percent of the way - we have festivals at each Greek church around Johannesburg, in fact too many Greek churches have been built - sadly so many Greeks have emigrated, it really is heartbreaking to see the churches more than half empty and the communities shrinking. Incidentally we also have a St. Basils here also. Wonderful poem dear friend. Hugs, Jennifer.
In my area, believe it or not, is only Greek church...Saint Basil's! SF and Oakland have far more Greek churches. Churches of any kind are losing parishioners. As human beings so wrongly seek solace everywhere and avoid God. I have seen it here. People more than willing to say "spiritual"but rarely own up to the real deal. Easier to make up their own Commandments. Have zero idea of why the Ark was built. Love, Panagiota
I shall be happy just listening to my old Nana Mouskouri tapes, but in younger days found, "Zorba le Grec" to be wonderful background music for making love. Have fun! Aloha! Rico
Rico! Hello in that beautiful state you reside in! Have never been to it, but my daughter has THREE times and adores Hawaii! I love bouzouki music and Greek dances and the music you do. I heard Sarantos is really good, but never heard him yet. Thank you my friend, for visiting and sharing. Love, Patricia
