The Greatest Sacrifice

Arwen Evenstar gave up her immortality When she decided in favor of love Her wish was to be one with the heir of Isildur Sadly, Elrond her father told her of the fate she had chosen Aragorn did not tell her to stay on the lands of Middle Earth Although, it is true that he loved her deeply With the defeat of he who dwells in Shadow The true king became the ruler of men The age of the Elves was passing Yet Arwen would not leave Middle Earth with her elven brethren Clasping the hands of a mortal - a king but one who would eventually fade into the darkness Arwen cared so greatly that she would give up travelling to Elvenhome which lies across the sundering sea A land which know not ot age or infirmity When her kindred left Middle Earth for the Grey Havens She kept her promise to the King Arwen Evenstar, daughter of Elrond Embraced the Doom of Mandos for love of a mortal man

giving up immortality is a HUGE sacrifice, but for love, it is probably worth it, as long as the other person loves you back of course! sounds like a good character and idea for a novel...do you write novels? p.s. in my poem leaves falling, yes, it was meant to imply that he/she was cheating with someone else, or a side interest as you called it :)

say, were these the names of Tolkien characters? Or did you make them up? Very cool, Matt. Glad to hear you enjoy Teasdale too. I wish her style were hugely popular today. Maybe I would have a chance in the poetic world! because her style is the one i try to emulate.
