The Greatest Christmas Message

THE GREATEST CHRISTMAS MESSAGE I don’t think there’s a message more full of hope and cheer Than this message of December that’s shared in every year. Its message was in heaven so very long ago When God saw man’s condition and wanted him to know That there would come a Saviour to pay sin’s penalty And give to him salvation forever and for free. Man failed there in the Garden of Eden on that day He ate then from the tree where God said to stay away. And now, so separated, in shame he ran and hid, But God came for him looking and this is what He did: He killed a lamb to show him that blood would be the way To cover man’s transgressions he committed every day. But it was temporary; God needed something else: He needed one just like Him, and so He sent Himself In the form of man, but perfect, the spotless Lamb of God, He took man’s sins through dying upon Golgotha’s sod. The cross is now God’s message for Christmas here today; There is no greater message I know that I can say. The Christmas message isn’t about the games and toys, A man dressed up like Santa to cheer the girls and boys. The Christmas message isn’t the toasts there of champagne, A time to have wild parties and live in such disdain. THIS is the Christmas message: Behold, the Lamb of God! Behold His beaten body hung there on Calvary’s sod! Behold that He’s now risen! Behold, He waits today To take you in His family, to wash your sins away! Oh, hear the Christmas message above the world’s din, Oh trust the living Saviour to save you now from sin! Yes, that’s the Christmas message that I truly believe, And I want YOU to know it, to now Christ to receive!
