The Great Lie

I’m fine, you’re fine.
That’s the lie we say.

I’m fine, you’re fine.
That’s the lie of the day.

I’m fine, you’re fine.
So the truth won’t be told.

I’m fine, you’re fine.
The lie is never old.

I’m a mess, and it hurts me so.
I’m a mess, but you should never know.

But stop and wait,
And listen close:

But stop and hear,
Look and see-

For what we are,
Is not what we should be.

But stop and wait-
I should define.

If I show you my heart
It will take some time.

If I show you my heart,
Do you promise not to judge?

If I show you my heart,
Can you help me clear the sludge?

I’m not fine, truth be told,
But when in passing, what do I say?

I’m not fine, truth be told,
But in passing-have a nice day!

The easiest thing to do to hide behind a facade, say I'm fine. Sad thing most people believe it. Only those who love you & know you, will know you are not fine. It shows in the eyes, the mirror of the soul. Find someone you can trust & speak to. It really helps, We've all been there. Much love xo

We all hide, everyone on the planet does. You are right. I've seen that look of "I'm not okay in others." I've used that line myself, sometimes too often. Thanks. Also I'm in a Hope Group right now as a way to unpack.
