The Great I Am

There is a beauty that lies with-in
Often hidden in a world of sin

We each hold beauty in our own way
Let us all please bow our heads to pray

I once kept my beauty hid from view
Something that I shall never again do

True beauty is born with-in the soul
And nourishing that is now my goal

I love my Lord and I love your life
Yet, all of my heart belongs to my wife

As broken down as my body may be
I’m in a great deal of pain and misery

But do you know what; that’s all ok
For it is the Lord that guides my way

And he has brought me to this place
I have an awful lot pain but no disgrace

If I am the river then my Lord is the dam
My course was altered by “The Great I am”

Just beautiful and very inspiring Michael. Those words ring with such conviction. Don't forget to thank the Lord for every pain and suffering that you have to endure. Pain and suffering keep us on a closer walk with God.Imagine how Christ suffered for us , yet He was sinless.

Michael, you are truly amazing. I LOVE this beautiful write. Ok, I know I love all your poetry, but the "Great I Am" is just a brilliant phrase carrying so much. I, too live with daily pain but my philosophy is it could be worse, and eventually it will be, here on earth anyway. So my joy is like yours, grateful for every single moment, the love of my husband and children, the beautiful earth and God above, of course. Happy holiday dear friend. With love, Shar
