The Grave

On a bleak and snowy day
I went to visit your grave
What is left of you only a few feet away
You were built into a monster
In the memory of a five year old
Now decades later a new truth is told
You were twenty
when your life came to an end
I am now fifty
And can no longer pretend
Your death at such a young age
Is the real tragedy
Not anything
you ever did to me
