The Grand Ball

The Grand Ball. . The amorous ambient moon Hung full and high Perched within the Twinkling Dark velveteen pincushion sky The welcoming warmth of a pleasant Summers embrace Ambles on at a steady pace . Orange bright light Seeps through large arched windows From the stately house on yonder hill Awaiting carriages to arrive Full of party goers for a frill . The ballroom fills elegant pretty Ladies Adorned in beautiful colored satin Off the shoulder gowns Diamonds and pearls catch the light An air of slight nervous anticipation and delight Ignites great excitement With the enticement of the night . Gentlemen dressed smartly So handsome and dashing With flirting eye and hungry Romantic desires Stand in clusters as the night transpires . The champagne and wine is flowing Laughter and chatter fill room As the orchestra plays Waltz’s and Polka Couples take to the floor to dance Accompanied by the distinct aroma of perfume . Swirling turning twirling As the music plays Hearts a flutter As couples swoon and hold a gaze . The room becomes hot humid Couples go outside to cool down And take the air Couples embrace in dark corners With lingering kisses in one night affairs . A stroll hand in and under the stars In the nearby Vienna woods Leaving the chatter and din behind Two passionate hearts inclined Making love then resting In each other's arms until morning breaks And the sun awakes. .
