The Good Times
Sometimes I close my eyes and remember
Remember all the good and bad
All the happy and the sad
All the things that made me
That sculpted my heart
That dreamt up my mind
My mother tells me stories from my past
How I was her one true wish
That god just wouldn’t give her
And when she finally got her gift
She was terrified to lose it
But she got it
She got me
Then that day when I came to be
Mommy and Daddy so filled with joy
But short lived
16 days after
Daddy went away
Daddy just wouldn’t stay
But for a year it was just us two
Then a gift from above
A knock on the door woke us up
1 day after I turned one
Another part of our family begun
A sick little baby so little and small
A sister, my sister she became to be
And now it became us three
We were such happy kids
Not one worry in our life
5 years past of our joy
Then back came daddy
With much joy
A family we truly were
We were spoiled
Oh yes indeed
We were the queens
Much has happen since those days
Daddy once again went away
But I was always happy as a kid
My childhood was my amazing gift
Yes
Sometimes I close my eyes and remember
Remember all the good and bad
All the happy and the sad
All the things that made me
That sculpted my heart
That dreamt up my mind
I love to close my eyes
And remember the good times
